Our app is designed with privacy as a fundamental principle, not an afterthought. We've built Paid Here to be completely transparent about data handling, which is easy because we don't handle any of your data.

To be completely clear, we do not collect, store, or have access to:

• Financial Data: Bank account information, credit card details, transaction amounts, or spending patterns
• Expense Details: Categories, descriptions, locations, or any other expense-related information
• Location Data: GPS coordinates, addresses, or any location information you enter
• Usage Analytics: How you use the app, which features you access, or how long you spend in different sections
• Device Information: Device IDs, operating system versions, or hardware specifications

How Our App Works (Without Data Collection)

Paid Here operates entirely on your device using Apple's built-in technologies:

Local Storage

All your expense data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData. We have no access to this information whatsoever.

CloudKit Sync

When you enable iCloud, your data syncs between your devices using Apple's CloudKit service. This happens entirely within Apple's ecosystem—we cannot see, access, or control this data.

No Backend Servers

We don't operate any servers that could potentially store your information. The app communicates only with Apple's services for syncing, and we have no visibility into that communication.

Privacy Features Built Into Our App

Zero Network Requests

Our app makes no network requests to external services. Everything happens locally on your device or through Apple's secure services.

No Analytics or Tracking

We don't use any analytics tools, tracking pixels, or monitoring software. We have no insight into how you use the app.

No Third-Party Services

We don't integrate with any third-party services that could potentially access your data. The app is completely self-contained.

Export Your Data

You can export all your data at any time in CSV or JSON format. This export happens entirely on your device—we never see the exported data.

Legal Compliance

This privacy policy is designed to comply with various privacy regulations, including:

• GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation): Since we don't collect personal data, many GDPR requirements don't apply, but we're committed to transparency about our practices.
• CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act): We don't sell, share, or collect personal information, so CCPA requirements are inherently met.
• COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act): Our app is not designed for children under 13, and we don't collect any personal information regardless.

Your Rights (And How We Already Respect Them)

Under various privacy laws, you have certain rights regarding your personal data. Since we don't collect any personal data, these rights are automatically respected:

Right to Access

You have complete access to all your data—it's stored locally on your device and synced via Apple's CloudKit. We can't access it, so we can't restrict your access to it.

Right to Deletion

You can delete your data at any time by deleting the app or clearing the data through iOS settings. Since we don't have copies, there's nothing for us to delete.

Right to Portability

You can export all your data in standard formats (CSV/JSON) at any time. This export happens entirely on your device.

Right to Object

Since we don't process any personal data, there's nothing to object to. Your data stays on your device and is synced via Apple's CloudKit.

Third-Party Services

We use only Apple's built-in services:

• App Store: For app distribution and updates
• CloudKit: For syncing data between your devices (we cannot access this data)
• iOS System Services: For basic app functionality like file management

We have no control over these services and cannot access any data that passes through them.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

If we ever change this privacy policy to start collecting data (which we have no plans to do), we will:

• Notify you at least 30 days in advance
• Require explicit consent before collecting any data
• Provide you with the option to delete your account and data
• Explain exactly what data we would collect and why

However, we want to be clear: we have no intention of ever collecting user data. This is a core principle of our development philosophy.
